italy

We visited Italy in 2000 for the first time and then in 2004/2005. My wife Michaela worked as a delegate for a travel agency in Lido di Iesolo resort, near Venice. We decided to travel to the south - to Gargano peninsula. It was August and the whole Italy was moving around, so we were one of the few no-Italian travelers going to south. The southern part of Italy is more agricultural o and for me has more intense "italian feeling" than the northern part. I especially liked Gargano , because it is forgotten by tourists. We were camping - a nice, adventurous and cheap option of traveling and the main advantage for me: you don't have to go for breakfast at exactly 8.00 a.m.

From Gargano we crossed to Naples (we saw it and didn't die...) and visited the Capri island - a lovely small island close to the coast with a beautiful house of San Michelle, where Axel Munthe lived. Then we turned up to the north, bi-passed the Rome (maybe next time) and traveled back home.

The 2006 Italy trip describes show Venice, Florence, Pisa on out way to Sardinia. Sardinia is "clickable" too.
